For instance I love Robert Rodriguez, he has changed my life in terms of how I look at the production and creative process, his book, his views, his ideas of speed and? technology, digital technology that can move at the speed of thought etc. I love the guy BUT I don't really LOVE his movies. I like Sin City, I like the Mexican Trilogy but they aren't American Beauty, they aren't In the Name of the Father they don't get me thinking about the world and asking universal questions.

I think 3d should get a little more credit than Kevin Smith does, I would say it's like going from s**tty quality audio to better quality audio. It makes a huge? difference in immersion or intricacies of the film.

I do agree but I also feel? that perhaps a 2D film could benefit slightly more just because the removals of wowza 3D effects can help in making the film at least look better. Obviously not as important as script or acting but gives it a little bit of an edge.

Again.. not true... look at the types and genres of 3D films that are coming out and their box office... they aren't selling that much more in dollars and especially not in ticket sales? compared to other similar films. Kids movies do the best in 3D... but again those films would have done great otherwise. 16mm, redcam, home video, black and white, tons of effects, no effects, 3D, not 3D... doesn't matter... a well marketed piece of s**t will still find an audience... boo.

, 3D didn't start it, but its definitely bringing it back and making it the new "cool" thing to do for movie companies. I expect nearly every movie in 2011 to be in 3d. But I'm not discussing which is worse 2D or 3D, but rather that 3D is making a comeback that doesn't require a good let alone a bad script. No one? has to try anymore when 60million will go see a movie due to it being in 3D.

Have? you looked at all the shiny-turd 2D films that have come out in the last 10 years that the public have seen. 3D isn't making films worse... bad scripts and lousy studio appeal to make anything original. Pirates 2 and 3 would still be s**t if in 3D instead of 2D... not smell WORSE... 3D movies that suck, suck just as bad in 2D on DVD.

I happen to dig Digital 3D movies and as far as it being a gimmick, it is a pretty damn good one. I choose quality over quantity any? day of the week, and as far as having a vast amount as to where to watch movies, there still is nothing better than the cinema theatre. Although the price is high, I am willing to dish it out.
